MindTree Recruitment Process Details

MindTree is looking to recruit bright and ambitious Engineers to be part of their industry groups and technology practices.

a) Compensation offered

INR 3,25,000/- Per Annum

b) Eligibility Criteria

  1. 10th and 12th percentage 65%
  2. Aggregate of 65% in Engineering (BE / B.Tech / MCA only)
  3. Please note the percentage calculation in case of CGPA: Total marks obtained from in all the subjects from the first to last semester divided by the total of maximum marks in all the subjects from first to last semester.
  4. Candidates need to clear all exams before joining & should come with Degree Certificates
  5. Only Students from circuit branches can take part in the MindTree selection process (branches mentioned below).

Rs. 2 lakh for 2 years from the date of joining. A 2-year bond is to be signed by the candidate at the time of joining, and if the candidate breaks that bond, he/she will be required to pay a penalty of Rs. 2 lakh as a fine / bond breaking fee.

Mindtree Recruitment Pattern 2019 – 2020

The MindTree recruitment test consists of 2 rounds. The first round consists of 3 sections namely, Quantitative Aptitude (35 minutes), Logical Reasoning (35 minutes), Verbal Ability (25 minutes).

The second round consists of Coding Proficiency test. (45 minutes). The overall difficulty of the exam stays between moderate and difficult. The coding section of the test consists of 2 coding/algorithm problems, in which the candidate is allowed the freedom to choose one of the popular coding languages (C, C++, etc) to code with during the section.

c) Mindtree Technical Interview

#Interview Experience 1

Vikash – Selected

PESIT, 4th year (ECE)

After the written test, I was selected for the interview round.

My interviewer asked me 4 questions and also asked me to code all of them after discussing the solution.

  • The first question was about sorting in a 2D array.
  • The second question was to about the functions of a binary tree.
  • The third question was similar to the second question (they requested a further explanation in detail about my answer), the interviewer thought of the question because of my answer, but because I knew the concept properly, that question wasn’t a problem for me.
  • The final question was to about linked list.
  • The interviewer gave me a problem and asked me to explain the logic. Once that was done, he asked me to write the logic (in code) for the same.

After that, I moved on to the HR interview. The HR interview was very easy. The interviewers made me feel comfortable, and it was a general discussion about my family and my hobbies. They also enquired about my location preference. My HR interview was relatively short, it was over in less than 10 minutes.

#Interview Experience 2

Anonymous – Selected

There were 2 interviewers for my technical round.

They started off with asking about my project, which was about website development. From there, they asked me a lot of questions about website development, out of which I think I answered about 70-80% questions correctly. Then they asked me which was my strongest and weakest subjects. After that, they tried to put me under pressure by asking me a lot of questions from my weakest subject (DBMS), but I stayed calm and told them whatever I knew from the basic concepts that I had studied in college. Once they were assured that I knew DMBS, the interview relaxed a little and they asked a few questions about Operating systems and networks, all of which I answered correctly.

Next, I had my HR interview. The HR interview was very relaxed, and not at all stressful like the technical interview was. I had 2 interviewers again, both of whom asked me easy questions about my hobbies and my passions. They also asked me about my parents. In the end, they asked me about my location preference, so I was confident that I had a good chance to get the job, which I eventually did.

Name: Akshith V, CSE, GITAM – HYD

Status: Selected

The first round was aptitude test, where we had to solve logical, quants and verbal questions. On the basis of the marks obtained in aptitude test, students who scored above the minimum cutoff were automated to the coding round.

The coding round was very easy. It consisted of 2 Questions. 

Coding questions – First, given an array and n query elements, return ‘true’ if the query element is present in the array else ‘false’. The second question was on Implementation. The question being – given n elements, find the pair of elements with a maximum difference and print the least one first followed by the second element. 

Technical Round was very interesting and challenging. The first question I was asked is to tell about myself. Next, a technical questionnaire about my project and internships. Most of the focus was on the backend. My project had PHP. So, I was asked to write code to connect to DB, retrieve data from DB, create table using PHP. Then I was asked about the programming language preference. I answered Java, C++, and C. I was asked about oops concepts, the difference between run time and compile-time polymorphism following sample code to demonstrate the same. 

The HR round was the last one. The first question, the most common one, tell me about yourself. The interviewer interrupts me and asks how my friends describe me. Why Mindtree? Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? Are you ready to relocate? Are you willing to work in different shifts? Are you fine with the bond?
